MAN ARRESTED ON DRUGS AND WEAPONS POSSESSION CHARGES FOR DRUG DEALING FROM HIS MORRISANIA HOUSING COMPLEX APARTMENT
New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced today the indictment of 39-year old Emmet Bruce, charged with cocaine and weapons possession and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. Bruce was arrested on January 3, 2008 after an investigation established that the defendant was selling cocaine from his apartment at the Morrisania Housing complex at 3073 Park Avenue, Apartment 14D in the Bronx. The defendant, arrested after he left his building, is registered with the New York City Housing Authority as the current tenant of Apartment 14D.
Following Bruce's apprehension, the NYPD's Bronx Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant operation that led to the recovery of just under an ounce of cocaine hidden in the intercom box by the front door of the apartment, four weapons including a loaded .35 caliber Marlin rifle with a scope, a 9mm Glock pistol, a .44 caliber Desert Eagle revolver and a damaged .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver.
Bruce was arraigned on the indictment on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 before Judge Laura Ward and was remanded. If convicted, the defendant faces 3 1/2 to 12 years.

A fully loaded rifle with a scope, three firearms, a digital scale, U.S currency and (below) just under an ounce of cocaine hidden inside the intercom box were recovered.
