FUGITIVE RETURNED AFTER TWO YEARS

New York City Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget G. Brennan announced the return of Juan Rincon, a fugitive who was brought back to the United States from the Dominican Republic on extradition proceedings initiated two years ago. The defendant was charged on a Special Narcotics indictment with Murder in the Second Degree, Kidnapping in the First Degree, Conspiracy and Narcotics Trafficking. Rincon and three others kidnapped Manuel Gonzalez, his wife Angelly and Gonzalez' father-in-law and held them in an apartment at 478 West 145th Street in Manhattan. They tortured and murdered Manuel Gonzalez in the apartment after he failed to disclose the whereabouts of his cousin, Wilson Gonzalez who had reneged on a drug debt.
