OSNP TRIAL DIVISION

The Trial Division is the largest division of the office and has principal responsibility for prosecuting felony street level narcotics crime and conducting investigations into mid-level drug operations.

The Trial Division is composed of three bureaus, each headed by a Bureau Chief and a Deputy Bureau Chief. The division's assistant district attorneys handle the high-volume of drug offenses involving the felony possession and sale of narcotics that are brought to the office for prosecution. They coordinate short-term investigations into mid-size drug organizations and street-level drug groups, and participate in specialized initiatives that target drug activity in the city's public housing complexes and narcotics sales over the internet.

Division assistants are on 24-hour call to provide support to a host of law enforcement authorities including personnel from the New York City Police Department's Narcotics Division and Patrol Bureau, New York Drug Enforcement Task Force, Port Authority Police, Metro North Police and the office's own squad of investigators.
